For many years Moseley was simply a desert when it came to sandwiches. It was ironic that given our city wide reputation for being the most pretentious area of Birmingham it was impossible to get a ciabatta with an olive balanced on it.
Not any more though. Since Lewis’s opened just over a year ago the sandwich potential has shot through the roof. It isn’t unusual to see Moseley residents wolfing down pastrami and gherkins and talking knowledgeably about types of bread that were previously only a dream. Then, more recently, Cafephilia popped up to tempt us with yet more bread based snacks.
So what we want to know from you is, which sells the nicest sandwiches? Do you like the exotic range from Lewis’s or do you prefer the more traditional take on the humble sandwich that you’ll find in Cafephilia?
Have you not bothered to try either? If so you’re an idiot, go and buy a sandwich, it’s not difficult.
