When Moseley returned two Labour Councillors, a legitimate concern of many right thinking people was that this would herald a return to Soviet era price controls. Over the last two years these concerns were largely dismissed as McCarthyite hysteria. Well news has reached us that the irrepressible march of global socialism has found a home in The Prince of Wales.
Landlord, Keith Marsden, recently took to Trip Advisor to set out his personal communist manifesto. It seems that unwitting lager drinkers have been subjected to artificial price manipulation as a means of social control. Keith’s glorious five year plan imagines a world where people can be weaned onto natural beer through the gentle hand of paternalism.
Keith told us, “To be honest manipulating the price of Carling is nothing. When I first took over the Prince my first plan was to nationalise the coal board. That didn’t really work out, it seems there isn’t a coal board any more and the ability to bring the harvesting of natural resources under state control is bafflingly beyond the terms of the agreement I have with the brewery.”
This shock revelation will come as no surprise to seasoned observers. After all, the frequent visits to Cuba and Keith’s insistence on quoting Andrei Gromyko, even when it isn’t really relevant, were clear signs of communist sympathies.
In other news, tractor production in Moseley is at an all time high.
